Messed around on Arch and Manjaro (both XFCE
& KDE
versions, maintaining packages and pamac
.
Barely midnight, so, barely the 9th. Thinking of installing KVM
, libvirt
, virt-manager
, etc. and leaving fucking VirtualBox
behind. Fuck Oracle. The command I’m thinking of using is…
Yes, it will be Whonix
getting me into KVM
finally.
Best be checking out the tools listed here too.

Timeshift
Backup to the External HDD…Then made this command:
Oh well. Doing it.
Also made these commands…

How To Install QEMU and Virt-Manager | Linux KVM
to check if virtualization is set up properly with the BIOS.
I’ll be Creating Virtual Machines in QEMU | Virt-manager | KVM next!
As for now, gonna… sudo reboot
(which never works on my machine, but I forgot!) Anyway, LOVING libvirt-manager
so far! Installed KDE Neon first, since I have an ISO and I know how crappy Neon
works in VirtualBox.
DAYUM Fast! I like how QEMU/KVM
works!
FUCK ME! Whonix is being a pain in the ass. Just extracting it using tar is taking forever! (100GB dynamically allotted)
Did THIS though.
Yeah, I snagged Whonix
and moved both the Gateway & Workstation to /var/lib/libvirt/images/
with the following commands:
The network interfaces aren’t working, probably because of the .xml files being left behind when I moved those.
5 am though, so I’m going to bed!
But no, I did these commands first:
This Webpage at https://www.whonix.org/wiki/KVM#Download_and_Extract was invaluable. And I really oughtta look at This: https://www.whonix.org/wiki/Post_Install_Advice too.
But, YAY! It worked! Gonna stay up now. It’s 6:30 a.m. Time for coffee…
Dicked around even more.
Fucked up the Manjaro Install in KVM
somehow after upgrading…
Installed KDE Partition Manager
and found out that, at least, the Whonix
shite isn’t taking up 100GB of space in /var/lib/libvirt/images/
, thank goodness; so that mv
command instead of the cp
shrink command, or whatever it was, anyway mv
was correct and it is still dynamically allocated.
